Real Madrid vs. Getafe Full Player Ratings From 3-0 Win
Real Madrid took down Getafe 3-0, even if the scoreline flattered them after a rough first half.
After the first 45 minutes, Real Madrid were lucky to be in the lead against their in-city rivals Getafe at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez. Thibaut Courtois had to make three wonderful saves to preserve the clean sheet, and Los Blancos’ lone goal was an own goal caused by a dangerous Ferland Mendy cross.
But by the second half, Los Blancos turned it around. Raphael Varane added a second goal, and then Madrid ran rampant in the final minutes when Vinicius Junior, Fede Valverde, and Luka Jovic were finally brought into the game. A late team goal sealed it, and Real walked away from a tough road environment with all three points and an impressive 3-0 result.
Here are the full player ratings from Madrid’s big win.
GK Thibaut Courtois
What more superlatives can be said about the Belgian goalkeeper? Thibaut Courtois is undeniably world-class again. He made three insane saves in the first half, with the first of them being a jaw-dropping stop to deny a thunderbolt from outside the box. Courtois deserves the world for keeping this clean sheet and keeping Real in the match during a rocky first half. He also had a marvelous reaction stop at his near post and denied a point-blank header.
Man of the match. No question about it.
