Real Madrid picked up all three points at the Santiago Bernabeu against Sevilla, winning 2-1 behind a clutch second-half brace from Casemiro.

Los Blancos went into the second half of their home game against Sevilla with a clean sheet intact amidst controversial circumstances, as Sevilla fans clearly felt hard-done by a VAR call that disallowed Luuk de Jong’s goal from a corner kick. Real Madrid were fortunate to head into the half with the score at 0-0, but they turned up the heat in the second half and won 2-1 after two goals from Casemiro.

Zinedine Zidane had to make all three substitutions in the second half and was more proactive with his changes. All three subs paid off, as Real once again earned all three points at the White House against Sevilla, who have always found it difficult to win in Madrid.

Here are the full player ratings from Real’s impressive 2-1 win.

GK Thibaut Courtois

He could do nothing about Luuk de Jong’s second-half goal, which was upheld by VAR under similarly controversial circumstances due to a handball shout against forward Munir. Courtois didn’t have as much to do in this game, but he was calm on the ball, which was needed when Eder Militao sent a few ill-advised passes early in the game. He continues to inspire confidence in goal and would have deserved a clean sheet.
