AM Isco
A poor performance from Isco, all told. He showed some signs of life after the opening 30 minutes, in which he was completely invisible, but his poor free kick from the edge of the box typified his day. He had clever touches, but his lack of pace and vision beyond five yards continue to expose him as a player who can’t be a regular starter for Los Blancos in 2020.

RW Rodrygo
Tasked with playing on either flank and giving Real Madrid width on the right side both defensively and offensively, Rodrygo was the most threatening forward and it wasn’t even close. He made some blistering runs on counters, but Karim Benzema and Isco just wouldn’t run or find space with him. Rodrygo was putting in the work that his teammates on the front line weren’t, and he was a constant danger to Valladolid, drawing some scary fouls in the process. He deserved an assist for his excellent crosses.

ST Karim Benzema
It’s strange to think that one of the league’s best attacking players alongside Lionel Messi ended up being one of the worst players on the pitch in this game, but Karim Benzema was wasteful. He did not provide the right outlet for his teammates, botched several chances, and genuinely did not look 100 percent. Perhaps he is still dealing with a hamstring injury.
