Casemiro has become more vital than ever before:
Real Madrid’s Brazilian destroyer, Casemiro has long been an important cog in midfield for Real Madrid. However, this season has shown that he could be more vital to Real than ever before.
Against Valladolid, the midfielder had yet another stellar outing. He recovered the ball an incredible 10 times, made 2 interceptions, cleared 4 balls and won 5 aerial duels – he also contributed 4 long balls and completed 44 of his 56 passes. What would have made this an even more impressive performance would be if his goal was not disallowed, the Brazilian is quite literally a complete midfielder at this point in time.
Real often struggle whenever he is not present and he has even become important for Real in the attack, contributing 4 goals this season. His assured presence in midfield has certainly been a huge factor in Real’s solid defensive numbers, it is quite easy to argue that Casemiro has indeed been Real’s best player this season.
