Luka Jovic – C

After showing his killer instincts in front of goal while he was with Eintracht Frankfurt, Real Madrid signed the Serbian striker last summer while many other clubs were aiming for his signature. Jovic arrived at the club for 60 million Euros and all the pressure was on him to replicate what Madridistas have seen from him and unfortunately he has been able to live up to the hype.

Jovic is still young and at 22-years-old, he still has a lot ahead of him. Coming to the club and having to get used to his new surroundings and a very different way of playing has clearly taken its toll on him but we have to give credit where its due. The striker has never stopped trying and he is very aware that things need to improve. He also has the backing of Zidane who will do everything in his power to bring Jovic up to the standards that he knows he can be at.

With only two goals in 23 appearances (many of them being as a substitute in the last few minutes of a match), Jovic will need to improve and with time, he definitely will. Until then, we need to be patient. Hopefully when I look back at this grade by the end of the season, I’ll be able to laugh it off and change it to an A!

Eden Hazard – B-

This is a very difficult one. Eden Hazard has finally come to Real Madrid after a fee of 100 million Euros was agreed on with Chelsea. He started off extremely slowly but with time, the Belgian was able to make himself feared on the pitch and was showing everyone that he is on the right path to reaching the heights everyone was waiting for. Unfortunately, an injury against Paris Saint-Germain halted his rise at the club and he has been out of the squad since then as he recovers from injury while the staff are taking extreme caution with his return.

Hazard is expected to return next week as the team will do what they can to have him fit for the Manchester City game on February 26. There is still a lot of time left in the season so hopefully the forward can come back strong and stay injury-free from now until the end of the season.
