Real Madrid vs. Celta Vigo: Player Ratings from 2-2 draw
DM Casemiro
One of the better players on the pitch against Celta Vigo, Casemiro completed 92% of his passes as the team’s leading passer with 87. Casemiro was rock-solid defensively, roaming around the pitch to make ball recovery after ball recovery. Attacking-wise, Casemiro wasn’t a big part of the attack, but he nearly scored a wonder goal.
Rating: 7.0 out of 10
CM Toni Kroos
It all seemed to fall apart after Zinedine Zidane subbed off Toni Kroos for Luka Modric, because while the latte worked hard in his 15 minutes (or thereabouts), perhaps Kroos should have stayed on the pitch after producing another masterclass.
The Germany international scored a great opener, curling the ball into the left side of the net with a trademark first-time effort. Kroos completed 92.6% of his passes with 7 of 8 long balls completed. The weight of his passing was pinpoint, as usual, and he worked hard defensively in the middle of the park with three tackles. A great game.
Rating: 7.5 out of 10
CM Fede Valverde
Fede Valverde didn’t have his best game at the office. The young Uruguayan recorded three tackles and completed 91.3% of his passes, but he did little to support the attack. It was hard to distinguish anything in particular about his performance on Sunday, as this was an average display. There’s nothing wrong with that, though, and Valverde is having a wonderful season.
