It’s finally Champions League time for Real Madrid as they prepare to face Manchester City in the Round of 16.

What a difference two weeks make in football. Just two weeks back, Madridistas looked confident of easily beating Manchester City in the Round of 16, and now Real Madrid look like the underdogs in this tie.

Los Blancos have suffered ever since they were knocked out by Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey, managing only four points out of a possible nine since. Madrid seems to have been mentally affected by that Sociedad loss and needs to recover immediately as the clash against City is up next.

Here are three reasons why Madridistas should be worried about this tie.

1) Eden Hazard’s injury

Eden Hazard’s return from injury was supposed to make this team complete. Los Blancos have struggled a bit offensively this season and Hazard seemed to be the missing piece in the attack. But just as Hazard seemed to have returned, he got injured in the same ankle that kept him out for two months again.

According to the medical report released by Real Madrid, he has fractured his ankle and will most definitely be out for some time. There’s a genuine worry that he might miss the rest of the season and the upcoming Euros.

With Eden out, Madrid will most probably have the same offensive issues that have dogged them throughout the season and is going to be a genuine cause of worry for Madridistas.
