ST Sergio Aguero

Another player whom Madridistas are undoubtedly familiar with, Sergio Aguero has grown into quite the player since leaving Atletico Madrid many years ago. Aguero has become one of the greatest strikers in Premier League history, and despite past rumors that Guardiola wanted a different style of striker, Aguero has managed to stick around in front of the talented Gabriel Jesus.

The 31-year-old has scored a team-high 16 Premier League goals this season in only 1,343 minutes, making him the most efficient scorer in the league. In fact, it isn’t even close. Aguero is averaging 1.07 goals per 90 minutes and Danny Ings is in second with a 0.72 rate. Incredible.

DM Rodrigo

Yet another player Real Madrid are familiar with, Rodrigo joined Pep Guardiola this past summer from Atletico Madrid as the centerpiece signing for Manchester City. Rodrigo is Guardiola’s next protege (a la Thiago Alcantara at Bayern Munich) and is one of the world’s finest defensive midfielders.

The young Spain international is second on the team behind the versatile Fernandinho in passes per game and is completing 92.2% of his passes. Only Jorginho and Fernandinho have more passes into the final third than Rodri, who has more passes into the penalty area than his heralded teammate.

Rodri is indispensable to City as a defender and passer, and it will be exciting to watch how he battles with Real’s midfield. He and Casemiro could easily be the keys to victory for either team, and Rodri could find it difficult to deal with Case and Fede Valverde if Zinedine Zidane, as expected, starts both.
