Real Madrid are always busy monitoring the best players across the world, and while Erling Haaland is the Norway international grabbing most of the headlines, another forward has piqued Los Blancos’ interest.

It’s highly unlikely Real Madrid attempt to sign another striker this upcoming summer. Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland could be tempting for a striker-needy team willing to pay above his release clause before it kicks in after the 2020-2021 season. But after Real spent 60 million euros on Luka Jovic as the No. 9 of the future behind the soon-to-be extended Karim Benzema, a huge splash at forward is unlikely.

Still, Real love scouring the market for breakout stars and knowing where potential top players stand on the market, so it’s interesting to note that they’ve reportedly shown interest in another Norway international scoring goals at a high rate.

Alexander Sørloth is only 24 years old, but he’s currently the Turkish Süper Lig’s top goal-scorer with 19 goals. He is averaging an outstanding 1.15 goals and assists per 90 minutes this season, as he’s also provided six assists for his Trabzonspor teammates in 2019-2020.

According to a report from AsistAnaliz’s Haluk Ayyildiz, via ReadAstonVilla.com’s Abdullah Mulla, Real recently watched Sørloth score a brace against Besiktas in a 2-2 draw. Per WhoScored.com, Sørloth also completed three dribbles in the match.

Real also asked Trabzonspor about their asking price for Sørloth, as they came away impressed with his crucial display. Per the report, the club would like 50 million euros for their star striker, who has blossomed into the league’s best player and has become key in the title race.

Beyond the goals, Sørloth is also averaging 2 dribbles per game, 1.3 key passes per game, and 1.1 dribbles per game.

He’s a very talented player with a proven scoring record in the Süper Lig and can provide more than goals. But at 24, he is older than Jovic and would cost nearly as much. So don’t expect Real Madrid to show any serious interest in Sørloth. Nevertheless, it’s great to see Los Blancos are doing their due diligence on players all around the world, as Sørloth has been a massive breakout star for Trabzonspor this season.
