Midfield

Luka Modric -7

At 34 years-old Modric moved across the pitch as if he stepped into a time machine before making his way onto the pitch. Quick changes of directions and interplay allowed him to have a positive impact in the game to help break down the lines of City.

Casemiro – 7

Casemiro was once again a staple for a Real Madrid side that attempted a free-flowing style in the attack. His backheel flick in the final third though was a little too cute and nearly cost Madrid a goal as City countered.

Federico Valverde – 7.5

Starting ahead of Toni Kroos in a Champions League match is a personal victory alone. Fede barreled up and down the field retrieving the ball for Madrid along with being tied for a team-high three tackles. His offensive product was ever-present moving the ball quickly and decisively in close quarters and through open play.
