Real Madrid welcomes FC Barcelona to the Santiago Bernabeu for Matchday 26 in La Liga in what will be a must-win game.

Los Blancos sit two points behind FC Barcelona, after their recent loss to Levante in the Bernabeu and aren’t looking too good right now with just one win in the last four games. Real Madrid have been putting in good performances but they currently lack the end product to all their good plays.

While the defense has bailed the team out consistently this season, they have failed to do so in the recent games which have put the lights on the lack of goals from the team.

El Clasico provides Real Madrid with the perfect opportunity to get their season back on track. If Los Blancos manage to win the game, not only do they leapfrog Barcelona to the top of the table, but they also get a huge morale boost that helps them better prepare for the return leg vs Manchester City.

Here are the 3 keys to a Real Madrid victory.

1) Mentality

For Real Madrid to win this game, they need to put the past games completely behind. In the last three games at the Bernabeu, Madrid has lost two and drawn one. They haven’t won a Clasico in the Bernabeu since the 2014/15 season. All these stats could weigh the team down mentally.
The whites need to forget everything and just completely focus on this game. The team has the necessary quality in them to win vs Barcelona. But if they let all these things affect them, they could very well lose this game even before it starts.

The team needs to dig deep mentally, find the mentality that allowed them to win even in tight situations back in 2016/17 and use it to win this decisive game.
