On Sunday, Real Madrid will travel to the Benito Villamarin to take on Real Betis. While Betis sit 14th in the league table, they are a dangerous team with some of the league’s best players in Loren Morón, Joaquín, and Nabil Fekir.
Here are five players on Los Merengues who will need to shine on Matchday 27 for the favorites to pick up three more vital points in the league title race.
GK Thibaut Courtois
Real Madrid superstar goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is coming off another fabulous performance, as he made two massive first-half saves to keep Los Blancos’ clean sheet alive. Courtois now leads the league in clean sheets, and he also leads the league in fewest goals allowed per 90 minutes and save percentage.
On Matchday 27, Courtois will face a deadly Betis attack that will look to pepper Courtois’ goal. All they need is one slip-up from the defense or one sloppy pass in midfield to create a devastating counterattack, which would provide one of their forwards a clear shot on goal.
Like in a few games in 2020, Courtois will need to make one or two big saves early to make sure Betis don’t grab an early lead. Joaquín, Morón, and Fekir will be itching for goals on Sunday.
