Real Madrid have shown interest in talented young strikers like Erling Haaland and Lautaro Martinez, but who else could be on Florentino Perez’s wishlist?

Karim Benzema is in a slump. The Real Madrid forward was one of La Liga’s best players in the first half of the season, regularly scoring goals and looking unstoppable in November alongside a fully healthy Eden Hazard.

However, his play has dropped since, and it’s provided another reminder to fans of how goals are at a premium. While Benzema is a great striker who is capable of scoring 20 goals in a season, what makes him great is his ability to go beyond the goals. As a primary scoring option, Benzema is, admittedly, lacking.

Real Madrid purchased a young striker this past summer who scored a boatload of goals in the Bundesliga in Luka Jovic, but he’s found it difficult to crack the starting lineup. There’s a great deal of belief in Jovic as a future superstar, and fans have seen his talent in glimpses. But Real want to replace Cristiano Ronaldo in the lineup, which calls for a special player. Jovic is talented, but he probably isn’t special.

Here are five strikers Real could eye this summer and splash cash on if they feel one of them can be that “special” addition.
