Wrapping up the overview of Real Madrid’s loaned players are the stunning defenders. There are currently three playing outside the capital and all three are having a rather large impact.

Other than Jesus Vallejo, the players Real Madrid have loaned out to big-name clubs across Europe are staggering. In fact, if needed, these three could form a rather formidable backline that would frustrate opponents.

Achraf Hakimi has been in Germany for over 18 months now and has become a fan favorite of Borussia Dortmund’s yellow wall. Playing as a winger, midfielder, and fullback on the right side, Achraf has blossomed into a star while on loan.

He is clinical going forward, he passes with Toni Kroos like accuracy, and seems to always have the energy to get back on defense.

This year especially, the Morrocan international has become more and more involved on the offensive side. He has registered four goals in the Champions League to lead the team and has 10 assists in the Bundesliga which is tied for second!

Hakimi’s xG graphs prove just how versatile and consistent he has been in Germany. Actually, he is overachieving when it comes to those 10 assists. The xA graph says he should only have five assists, but he has far exceeded that.

The stats and watching him play clearly shows his incredible natural ability. This season alone, Achraf has featured 17 times as the right-back, 15 times as the left-back, and 12 times as a defensive midfielder on the right side.

Is there anything this guy can’t do?!

Sergio Reguilon has also put up some stunning numbers while away with Sevilla. Though he worked his way into the Real Madrid first team last year and became a regular, the fullback has already made more appearances and played more minutes than he did with Los Blancos.

He joined a solid team and immediately asserted himself as the true starter on the left side. He has not faltered all year and his 7.14 average match rating in La Liga proves that he is doing exactly what the manager is asking of him.

Reguilon put in a phenomenal performance over the weekend in a 2-2 draw with Atletico Madrid where he had the most tackles of any player that featured with five and completed 81 percent of his passes.

Alvaro Odriozola has made just two appearances for Bayern since joining in late January, so I will wait another month to give him a true grade.

It won’t be easy for the Spaniard to dethrone Benjamin Pavard at right fullback with the World Cup winner dazzling the Bavarian fans since joining from Stuggart last summer. He has been so good it has pushed Joshua Kimmich to play in the midfield alongside Thiago as a CDM.

Grades:

Achraf Hakimi: A+

Sergio Reguion: B

Alvaro Odriozoloa: N/A
