Real Madrid and FC Barcelona often compete over talented prospects, but they are far from the only teams interested in Fenerbahce’s Omer Beyaz.

In addition to reportedly competing over Lyon starlet Rayan Cherki, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are both reportedly interested in Fenerbahce teenager Omer Beyaz.

Fotospor in Turkey reports, via Nihat Emre Kocaasian of Sports Witness and @ManUnitedZone_, that a large number of top clubs in European football are interested in Beyaz.

In addition to Real Madrid, Premier League rivals Manchester United and Manchester City have interest in the 16-year-old. Serie A rivals Juventus and Inter Milan are also said to be looking at the attacking midfielder.

More from The Real Champs

That’s quite the group of powerhouse rivals across the continent. Real Madrid stand out as an option, though, because they have been winning the signatures of several top prospects, especially attacking midfielders.

Takefusa Kubo and Martin Odegaard are two loanees who have a lot of talent and chose Los Blancos, while Reinier Jesus recently signed with Real over Barça and has shown real promise at Castilla already.

Of course, Real Madrid are also used to competing with teams besides their biggest rivals in La Liga. They are preparing to battle over Donny van de Beek, who signed a pre-agreement with Los Blancos but was recently approached by Manchester United.

Beyaz is a skillful attacking midfielder who has intriguing traits at the age of 16. He hasn’t started in a Super Lig game yet for Fenerbahce, but the prized prospect was in the squad for the team’s latest game.

Fenerbahce reportedly want to do whatever they can to keep Beyaz, which comes as no surprise. But they are said to be especially keen on keeping Beyaz however they can, since they are still reeling from losing center back Merih Demiral to Sporting CP. Demiral has since emerged as a future superstar at Juventus, outplaying the more hyped signing Matthijs de Ligt.

As for Beyaz, he plays for Turkey’s U17 international team and is looking to make his first appearance for Fenerbahce’s senior team after playing for the U19s.

Beyaz has a bright future ahead of him, and it’s great to see that Los Blancos are in the mix for another promising player in world football. The competition will be fierce, but Florentino Perez and Madrid always stand a great chance at landing a talented young player. That’s become their focus in today’s transfer market.
