Real Madrid signed Flamengo’s Reinier Jesus at the winter transfer window, and now they have their eyes on a Santos striker.

Florentino Perez has realized that in today’s transfer climate, it is imperative for Real Madrid to sign the world’s best young players before their valuations skyrocket. Therefore, Los Blancos have been targeting top players in Brazil.

Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo both made noise as first-team players in 2019-2020 for Real Madrid, and the Spanish top flight’s powerhouse club also signed Reinier Jesus from Flamengo in the winter. Those three players give Real a trio of excellent attacking players from Brazil, but Los Blancos aren’t done yet.

According to a report from Bild, via Football-Oranje.com, Real Madrid, RB Leipzig, Juventus, and PSV Eindhoven are all interested in signing Santos striker Kaio Jorge.

More from The Real Champs

Real signed one high-priced, future superstar from Santos in Rodrygo last summer, and the teenager scored a perfect hat trick in the Champions League in his first season with the club.

Jorge has been hot on Juventus’ radar over the past several months and could be a game-changing talent. Just 18 years old, Jorge has scored 7 goals in 11 appearances for Brazil’s U19 squad.

According to the report, Santos would be looking for 20 million euros for Jorge, which is less than half of what Santos received for Rodrygo from Real Madrid last summer.

That said, Rodrygo was a special prospect, so that’s worth keeping in mind when comparing Jorge’s expected price tag.

Santos finished second in Brazil’s top flight last season behind Flamengo, as veteran Carlos Sanchez led the way with 21 goal contributions.

Meanwhile, Jorge appeared in only three matches as a substitute, registering a mere 22 minutes. He’s yet to score for Santos in his career and made no starts last season, but the future is bright for the striker.

PSV seems like a great landing spot for Jorge, and Juve could be a big option for him. However, Real Madrid already have a lot invested in Luka Jovic and may be targeting another striker like Kylian Mbappe or Erling Braut Haaland. Since they’ve already taken a lot of top talent from Brazil, it’s probably best if they pass on Jorge, even if he has intriguing upside.

Next. Selling Luka Jovic would be a terrible decision. dark

Of course, RB Leipzig should be the team to watch here. They are known for developing young talent and attracting rising stars. Jorge could learn a lot from playing under Julian Nagelsmann as Timo Werner‘s long-term replacement, benefitting from superstars like Christopher Nkunku. Leipzig and Juve look like the favorites here.
