Real Madrid attacking midfielder Isco had to get past some injuries in 2019-2020, but, once he did, he looked like one of the biggest stars on the team.

Isco entered the 2019-2020 season in an uncertain situation, as transfer rumors swirled around the Real Madrid veteran. However, the Spain international was at no real risk of leaving the team, because manager Zinedine Zidane has always been high on the No. 10, who once played a key role for Los Blancos under the French manager.

Injuries threatened to derail Isco’s bounce-back season, and he started the campaign as a second option to James Rodriguez. But the tied turned after injuries began to hit the other talented, experienced attacking midfielder on the roster, so Isco started to take on more responsibility.

Known as a big-game player, Isco slowly started to grow back into his element. He had some inconsistent moments in the middle of the season, but by the end of the campaign, Isco looked like one of the most important players in the Real Madrid attack.

This summer, Los Blancos will focus on adding more firepower to their attack, specifically when it comes to goal-scoring. And although Martin Odegaard’s future must be kept in mind, here are three reasons why Isco can be “The Guy” for Real in 2020-2021.
