Real Madrid will need to sign a top attacker and could pick up a solid defender or midfielder in the summer of 2020, too. Here are five sensible transfer targets for Los Blancos.

When the 2019-2020 campaign came to a halt, Real Madrid were second in La Liga behind FC Barcelona, and they were at risk of being eliminated by Manchester City at the Etihad in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 after losing at the Bernabeu.

This summer, Los Blancos must address their weaknesses in the goal column, as they have yet to truly replace Cristiano Ronaldo‘s production. There are only a few players who can truly help in this regard, but with Karim Benzema and a healthy Eden Hazard, Real only need one superstar to do it.

That superstar could be Liverpool’s Sadio Mane, PSG’s Kylian Mbappe and Mauro Icardi (or even Neymar), or someone from Borussia Dortmund. Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland could be game-changers. Not all these options will be available for Los Merengues, but they are certainly stars who are on the radar.

Here are five viable transfer targets for Real Madrid in the summer of 2020, noting additional needs in center midfield.
