Real Madrid will be busy in the summer transfer window for a second straight year, and here are ideal and not-so-ideal solutions for each of their positional units.

After Karim Benzema carried the team from a goal-scoring standpoint for a second straight season, Real Madrid undoubtedly need to get serious about finding a new primary goal-scorer in the post-Cristiano Ronaldo era. The likes of Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, and even Harry Kane will on the radar as Real look to become the most dominant team in Europe again.

But while signing a world class attacker will be Los Blancos’ priority in the summer 2020 transfer window, whenever it actually opens, Real will also have eyes on potential midfield and defensive targets. They could use more depth at center back, a backup defensive midfielder for Casemiro, and maybe something else.

Additionally, Real Madrid won’t just have their eyes out on one type of goal-scorer. Haaland and Mbappe, for example, are completely different players despite both being young with great eyes for goal and outstanding athleticism. Mbappe can play wide, while Haaland is only really a No. 9. So, in effect, that represents two positions for Los Blancos to consider this summer.

Here are ideal solutions for each of Real’s positional units, as well as an option that shouldn’t be considered as seriously.
