5 Predictions for Real Madrid if the Season Resumes
Here are five predictions for Real Madrid if the 2019-2020 season returns.
With the current situation the world is under, it is understandably difficult to find many positives and even more so when it comes to watching your favorite football team continue the current season. However, I choose to remain positive that we’ll see the season until the end unless officially decided otherwise. Therefore, let’s assume that we will be watching Real Madrid play and continue the current campaign. What can we expect?
Los Merengues are currently in second place in La Liga with two points separating them from the current leaders, Barcelona. There are 11 games left to play in the league which means that there would be a lot of chances for the Men in White to take over the lead if Barcelona slip up at any point.
As for the UEFA Champions League, Real Madrid are yet to play their second-leg match against Manchester City after falling behind to a 2-1 loss to the Citizens. There was a lot of talk about a comeback in Manchester but that has obviously been a little quieter in recent weeks. So, what can we expect to see from the team if the season resumes?
1. Inconsistency:
This is a word that Real Madrid struggled with quite a lot in the campaign and after a sudden halt to playing, I don’t think that we can expect this to change much.
Even if it were somehow possible to play a mini-preseason in order to get the players back to the fitness they need to be at, it’s not much when it comes to wanting them to completely shift their focus from being self-isolated at home to suddenly going back to fighting for two massive titles and technically starting their “new season” at the business end of the campaign rather than what they’re used to, which is to be taking it a little slow in the beginning and arriving to this moment in top shape.
