Real Madrid: 2 best transfer targets at each position of need
Striker
PSG’s Kylian Mbappe
Kylian Mbappe is coming off another excellent season for PSG in Ligue 1, making highlight-reel dribbles and sniffing out goal-scoring opportunities better than anyone else in the world. Some detractors will try and nitpick Mbappe as being too raw, but the numbers speak for themselves. With 14 goals in 14 games as a center forward last season, Mbappe is a different kind of class.
At Real Madrid, Mbappe would probably play out wide – again, right winger is the hole here – to co-exist with Karim Benzema, but it may be preferable to play him as often as possible through the middle to maximize his goal-scoring as PSG did.
Mbappe is Real’s top target for a reason. There isn’t a more valuable player than the 21-year-old World Cup hero.
Dortmund’s Erling Haaland
Another sublime Dortmund attacker makes the list of top targets for Real Madrid in the next two summer transfer windows. Erling Haaland needed only 512 minutes to record nine Bundesliga goals for BVB in 2019-2020, which is a staggering level of efficiency. He was great for RB Salzburg, but he’s been even more lethal with Dortmund’s embarrassingly good supporting cast.
Haaland would have a similarly talented supporting cast at Real Madrid, including, likely, BVB teammate Achraf Hakimi on the right.
Like Mbappe, Haaland is a young, athletic, tactically astute, and technically prolific goal-scoring machine who can score from anywhere and at any time. He is worth the hype.
