Toni Kroos has been in impressive form this season and has been playing perhaps his best since he joined Real Madrid back in 2014.

The German midfielder, who joined the Whites after his stellar World Cup campaign has been the world’s best midfielder this season. He’s put in great performances in his usual consistent manner.

Apart from his usual great performances this season, he’s also been more of a leader in the midfield for Los Blancos.

Toni Kroos played in a more attacking role at the start of the season and then went back to his 2016/17 role. He’s played more with Casemiro and Fede Valverde this season rather than with Luka Modric.

The team plays better with Valverde as he offers a relentless two-way engine and provides an extra safety net for Kroos. While Kroos has been great for most of the year, here are his top five games of the season.

5. Real Madrid vs Celta de Vigo 2-2 (16/02/2020)

Celta de Vigo are Toni Kroos’ favorite opponents in La Liga. Ever since he joined Los Blancos, he has scored a goal against them every year. Apart from the goals, he always puts in a dominant performance against them.

This game was no different. After being rested in the game before this one against Osasuna, Kroos came out firing on all cylinders for this game.

He had a 93 percent pass success rate, completed four out of his five tackles, and of course, scored his traditional side-footed goal.

Kroos and Hazard were the two best players for Madrid that day and both helped the Whites regain the lead after going 0-1 down.

Real Madrid went on to draw the game after the two were substituted.
