Real Madrid left winger Eden Hazard suffered his second ankle injury after 67 minutes of action against Levante, but when will he be able to return?

There’s a chance the 2019-2020 La Liga campaign returns in the month of June, and if it does, Real Madrid will need Eden Hazard to be fully healthy in order to make a late charge at the championship. Despite Real’s March in at the Santiago Bernabeu over FC Barcelona, La Blaugrana currently sit in first place after Los Blancos’ slip-up vs. Real Betis.

Hazard has only registered 749 minutes in La Liga, per WhoScored.com, this season. He suffered a serious ankle injury in late November against PSG after bossing the game, and he missed a number of months before the re-injury against Levante.

According to a report from MARCA’s Santiago Siguero, Zinedine Zidane is expected to resume training on May 11.

And when will Eden Hazard be back? MARCA says he’s expected to be at 100 percent in about a month, which means he should be able to practice by mid-June.

If the Spanish league season begins in late June, Real Madrid will have Hazard back for the full final stretch of the season for key games against the likes of Valencia, Athletic Bilbao, and Villarreal as they look to chase Barcelona for another title for Zidane.

Hazard sets the tempo for the team in attacks, taking defenders on, starting counterattacks, linking up with other attacking players, even working hard defensively. The Belgian is Real’s clear superstar on offense, and they need him to be healthy above all else.

Hopefully, MARCA’s reported timeline rings true. Hazard being back at 100 percent in a month would be excellent, even if La Liga wises up and decides not to push forward with a season restart. It’s always good to hear about players recovering from an injury.
