The return of the forwards

Real Madrid could receive a huge boost to the forward line if both Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio are cleared to return to training at the facilities. Of the two, Hazard should be closer to match fit having been rehabbing a fractured ankle since the end of February.

During this most recent injury layoff, Hazard has said he is doing a better job with his diet than he did over the summer and according to reports, the Belgian international has recently been cleared to begin running more and working with the ball.

On the other hand, Marco’s recovery from a serious knee injury nearly a year ago is going very well, but the coaching staff and team doctors are reluctant to clear him to return to full training and potential squad selection.

As I wrote a week ago, Real Madrid needs to be very careful with what they decide to do with Asensio and should consider not letting him play a match until the fall.

Although Hazard has suffered two injuries this season, he still should be included in the matchday squads when play resumes.

We should get a good judge of what the next few months will look like for these two early on, so be patient and let the medical staff do their work.
