Real Madrid won’t be able to sign their top targets in the summer 2020 transfer window, but here are three young standouts for them to target.

Los Blancos will need to sell some players in the summer 2020 transfer window, namely Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez, in order to make purchases. But Real Madrid do have their eyes on talented young players, as well as goal-scorers who can immediately help the club.

Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe top Los Blancos’ wishlist of forwards, but neither player is expected to move until the 2021 summer transfer window at the earliest.

Until then, here are three prospects Real should consider signing in 2020, with a focus on up-and-coming players.

DM Eduardo Camavinga

We begin with Rennes defensive midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, who can play a variety of roles in center midfield. Camavinga has more long-term upside than any teenager in world football, including Erling Haaland and Barcelona star Ansu Fati.

The issue with Camavinga isn’t pricing, since Real Madrid should be able to afford his 50 million euro tag if they are able to sell Bale to Newcastle and James to Atletico Madrid (as examples of rumored landing spots that are sensible). With Camavinga, the issue is availability, since Rennes have made it to the Champions League.

But look for Real to continue to negotiate with the Ligue 1 side. Camavinga can immediately help Real as a backup to Casemiro before eventually becoming a superstar. He is a perfect fit for the Santiago Bernabeu and is already a world-class midfielder.
