RW Gareth Bale

The most obvious player has been saved for last. Gareth Bale – and this may come as a surprise to fans – led all wide forwards with 992 minutes played in La Liga and played in the team’s biggest Champions League games against PSG.

Bale logged 91 more minutes than left winger Vinicius Junior, who mostly started when Eden Hazard was injured, and received over 300 more minutes than the two other right wing options in Lucas Vazquez and Rodrygo Goes.

To put it bluntly, Bale was terrible after the month of September and never scored a goal in La Liga after an early brace in a 2-2 draw with Villarreal. Real Madrid will want to sell him for any price if they can find a suitor, with Newcastle looking like the only option.

Even if Bale remains in the squad, there’s no way he leads all right wingers in minutes again. Rodrygo, Vazquez, Marco Asensio, Isco, and Achraf Hakimi would all be better options at the position than Bale, who has fallen completely out of favor with both the fans and manager Zinedine Zidane.

Bale had his chances last season but failed to take them. His time at the Bernabeu is up.
