There are several talented players in La Liga worth Real Madrid’s attention, and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa would be an excellent backup plan at the defensive midfield position for the club.

Anguissa is one of a few wonderful players at Villarreal, and he’s coming off a season that has gone underrated. Per WhoScored.com, Anguissa averaged a whopping 2.4 dribbles completed per game and drew one foul per game, which is extraordinary for a player at his position.

Defensively, the 24-year-old was also excellent. He put up 2.2 tackles per game and 1.2 interceptions per game as one of the top defensive midfielders in La Liga. Anguissa also made a high impact in the air with 2.5 aerial duels one per game. As if that weren’t enough, Anguissa’s pass completion percentage exceeded 85 percent.

He is a complete player in the midfield and would be a tremendous backup for Casemiro. Villarreal may ask for a high price from a league power, but they could very well use any sort of cash flow right now. Per Transfermarkt, Anguissa’s value is set at 20 million euros, and it’s possible Los Blancos could get him for even less than that in the current market.

It seems like Anguissa is one of the most underrated midfielders in La Liga, but, make no mistake, he has the quality to be a rotational player for Los Blancos if Camavinga is unachievable in 2020.
