Real Madrid left winger Eden Hazard is one of the best players in the world, and hopefully he shows it with no rust when football returns.

It took Eden Hazard some time to get used to life at Real Madrid after he signed for 100 million euros from Chelsea in the summer 2019 transfer window, but by the time the Fall was in full swing, so was Hazard.

The Belgian left winger shook off the unfounded – and quite frankly offensive – concerns about his playing weight. Hazard simply needed time to develop chemistry with his teammates, and he was unstoppable when he did.

There was a stretch of four straight games when Hazard recorded at least six dribbles completed in each of them, putting in a lot of hard work to set up chances for others. Hazard received criticism from fans outside Madrid for not putting together enough goals and assists, but wise football observers saw the impact he had on Real, especially star striker Karim Benzema.

When Hazard suffered his first injury of the season against PSG, Real’s attack fell apart. Benzema found it difficult to score and hit the back of the net sparingly thereafter. Hazard’s return from injury went OK in terms of his own playing ability, but Benzema and the others still struggled. And then Hazard was out again as quickly as he came back.

Hazard has been hard at work rehabbing to return to Real Madrid when football resumes, which could happen in June. No matter when the date, Hazard is fully expected to be out there with the rest of his teammates to provide Real with the boost they need to pursue a La Liga title. Despite defeating FC Barcelona 2-0 without Hazard in March, their slip up to Real Betis has put them behind Barça in the title race.

All Madridistas can do is hope Eden Hazard returns healthy, happy, and ready to absolutely dominate. He was wonderful in the Fall, carving up defenses with turns and fake rabonas while providing plenty of hard work defensively to support breakout star Ferland Mendy.

For the remainder of the 2019-2020 season or in 2020-2021, Hazard can be the game-changing transfer and star man for Real Madrid that he was meant to be. It’s all in the FIFA 20 cover co-star’s hands, and Madrid fans will be ready to throw their full support behind the man wearing the fabled No. 7 jersey. He is the key to a league title.
