Real Madrid: A player from each La Liga club to target

Real Madrid almost certainly won’t be able to buy any players from Athletic Bilbao and probably don’t have interest in their stars, but this is a wishlist and we have to pick someone from the Basque club. So Yeray Alvarez is the man here.

The 25-year-old center back is an absolutely brilliant, assured defender and is one of Athletic’s top players. Last season, per WhoScored.com, Alvarez averaged nearly two interceptions per game and four clearances per game as one of La Liga’s best center backs.

Osasuna ST Chimy Avila

Had Chimy Avila not suffered a serious injury this season, the Osasuna star would have likely signed with FC Barcelona and been the next big thing for La Blaugrana. So if Avila is good enough for Barcelona, he should at least be good enough for Real Madrid to keep an eye on.

And he is. Osasuna were mostly known for their defensive work in 2019-2020, but Chimy Avila was a huge bright star in the attack. He scored nine goals in 1,593 minutes, showing dynamism on the ball with more than two fouls drawn per game.

Avila is entering his prime at 26 years old, and while he may not be young enough or a big enough star to be a starting striker at the Bernabeu, he is Osasuna’s best player.
