Real Madrid are still looking for exciting young forwards.

Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland are by far the two forwards who interest Real Madrid the most. Los Blancos hope they can sign both players in 2021 and 2022, but they aren’t restricting their focus to just those two players.

Real also have interest in the likes of Lyon’s teenager Rayan Cherki and Valencia target Ferran Torres. But another name has surfaced as another intriguing young player for Los Blancos.

According to a report from Defensa Central, Real have interest in Celtic star Odsonne Edouard, who is one of Arsenal’s targets as a potential replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette if either is transferred.

Newcastle have plenty of cash to burn and are also said to be interested in Edouard, who could join their other target, Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale, as standout attacking additions to help out Joelinton, Miguel Almiron, and Allan Saint-Maximin.

Edouard is just 22 years old and is coming off an outstanding season in the Scottish Premiership with 22 goals in 25 starts. In six Europa League appearances, Edouard added three goals and two assists.

WhoScored.com had him credited with 1.5 dribbles per game and 1.3 key passes per game in the Europa League as well, showing his all-around impact.

Los Blancos probably won’t make a serious effort to sign Edouard, but it is interesting to see that he is reportedly on their radar.

He has enough quality in front of goal to be on Real’s radar and is a high-quality striker. But it is worth noting that Luka Jovic had a better Europa League campaign one year earlier and isn’t someone Real will give up on yet.

How much could Edouard cost Los Blancos? Transfermarkt has him valued at less than 15 million euros, which means he could be an absolute steal. Perhaps with Mariano Diaz likely leaving, Real Madrid could target Edouard as his replacement and competition for Jovic and Karim Benzema, especially with Jovic injured right now.
