Real Madrid LW Eden Hazard

Another one of the new signings that have failed to click at Real this season. The Eden Hazard and Real Madrid match looked like made in heaven. Real Madrid needed a star player in their ranks who could create havoc in the opposition defenses. Hazard needed a club that could finally make him a bigger star than he already was.

But it has been nothing short of a disappointing start to Eden’s Real Madrid career. When he first arrived at the club for pre-season there were several reports of him being completely out of shape and that he needed to get back into shape.

Then he went on to get injured before the season had officially started causing him to miss the first few games. Once he returned, it took him time to adjust to the team and get into match fitness. Soon though, it seemed like he was returning to his best and was starting to gel with the team only to get injured again.

He made a return from that injury in scintillating fashion, dropping a masterclass against Celta de Vigo in La Liga. Things were finally starting to look better only for him to suffer the same injury again and this time needing an operation that would keep him for a longer duration.

The pandemic break has allowed him to make a complete recovery from the injury, giving Hazard a chance to feature in games this season. While the other players in this list mostly needed to step up to save their careers at Real Madrid, Hazard needs to step up to help the club score more goals and create more chances for a somewhat dead offense.

If Hazard and the other two can play at their best level, Madrid certainly has a chance of getting back to their offensive best without the need for immediate reinforcements in attack.
