Real Madrid stands a good chance of signing Kylian Mbappe.
Real Madrid have consistently been on Kylian Mbappe since the time he moved from Monoco.
The motivation behind why he has not come to the Bernabeu is a result of his foundation.
Mbappe is known for his clinical finishing, dribbling, strength, and explosive speed all at the age of 21.
Former VP of Monoco Vadim Vasilyev told Telefoot:
"“I feel like it’s too early. I’ve only played for a year in my country, I’m from Paris… I don’t want to leave France like this. I want to establish myself as a top player here. Real Madrid will wait for me.”"
This means the optimism is rising for Mbappe to be a target in the summer of 2021. It makes sense for PSG to sell him before 2022 because he would leave for free when his contract runs out. However, PSG is not going to let that happen.
Here are the 3 reasons to remain optimistic for Mbappe’s transfer in 2021:
- Real Madrid have to maintain indirect contact with Mbappe in efforts for him to not strike a new deal with PSG. If this happens, the situation will be complex due to higher wages and player value. Note, Mbappe has been given two contract extensions, but rejected both offers.
- Both clubs have an outstanding relationship. Florentino Perez has a long standing friendship with Nasser Al-Khelaïfi. Real Madrid have discredited false reports about Neymar and Mbappe which grew PSG’s respect upon Real Madrid.
- Florentino Perez will most likely take the same approach as he did with Eden Hazard. For his caliber, Real Madrid paid 100M. By following this strategy, Mbappe can be had for 125-160M which a reasonable price tag for a World Cup winner, and future multiple Ballon d’Or winner in the future.
Why didn’t Real Madrid buy Mbappe in 2017? That is not Florentino Perez’s style. He wanted Mbappe to establish himself PSG before joining Real Madrid.
Fast forward to 2020, Mbappe won the World Cup with France, won a couple of Ligue 1 titles with PSG, and at 20 years old, he became the youngest player to score 15 goals in all competitions.
Now, if you bring Mbappe to Los Blancos not only is it for increased publicity but Perez is also reshaping the striker position that has been held by Karim Benzema for the past 11 years.
