Some of Real Madrid’s summer 2019 arrivals have played quite well.

Real Madrid inarguably had one of their worst seasons in the club’s decorated 118-year history. The sale of one of the club’s greatest ever players (if not the greatest) in Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus spelled doom as well.

However, with Zinedine Zidane back at the helm, Real Madrid are still pretty much in the race to win the league and have a chance to turn around their one-goal deficit against Manchester City in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League in what has been a good season so far.

We take a look at the 3 most impactful signings of the 2019-20 season.

Real Madrid LW Eden Hazard

Eden Hazard has managed a paltry 15 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring just once and assisting twice – very disappointing numbers by his standards.

However, his game is much more than just goals and assists. He leads the team in successful dribbles per 90 minutes (3.5 dribbles p90). That number slightly increases taking just La Liga into consideration(3.9 dribbles p90), per WhoScored.com.

The Belgian has often showcased his footballing wizardry by slaloming past defenders at ease and creating space for other players to exploit.

It is safe to say that his presence elevated the offensive production of the team and that led Real Madrid to a series of convincing victories such as the 4-0 away victory against Eibar, the 6-0 trashing of Turkish outfit Galatasaray, and a 5-0 dubbing of Leganés.

It is pretty evident that Hazard is a world-class player and the resumption of La Liga will give fans another chance to witness the Belgian’s prowess with the ball.
