3. Eden Hazard and Karim Benzema

Los Blancos this season have been very impressive defensively which is a far cry from the usual attacking approach that the club is known for. This approach has been more down to necessity than anything else. Ever since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid has lacked an efficient and volume goalscorer.

While Karim Benzema has stepped up and has led the team well, he has experienced a drop in form since the start of the year. That has led to Madrid struggling to score goals and create havoc amongst opposition defenses.

While Eden Hazard was brought to help be the star that the attack sorely missed, he has missed most of the season due to injuries. In the games that he has played where he had gelled with the team, he has taken the attack to another gear.

In fact, in the first round fixture vs Eibar at Ipurua, Hazard had a great game and was wonderful. While he had suffered an injury that seemed to have put him out for the season, the pandemic break has allowed him to recover and be fit in time for the restart.

The break has also allowed Benzema to rest up and return fresh for the final stretch. Those two will be key in helping Real Madrid score and get off to a winning restart.
