Real Madrid will have a deep UCL run

After Manchester City stunned the Santiago Bernabéu by defeating Los Blancos 2-1, the odds are heavily stacked against the Merengues to overturn the one-goal deficit and progress to the quarterfinals of a competition they like to call their own.

Real Madrid’s players will return to full fitness in a few weeks and they will be ready for the intense second leg challenge awaiting them once the league ends.

Marco Asensio and Eden Hazard’s return has bolstered Zidane’s team, and come the second leg, Real Madrid will be the clear favorites to steer clear of the Manchester outfit, since the absence of crowd will take the away stadium factor out of the equation.

Real Madrid will win La Liga

Barcelona lead the table with 61 points with Los Blancos just two points adrift with 59 points.

Barca has a much tougher final stretch than Real Madrid and Barcelona haven’t performed well enough in recent matches. Real Madrid has been a better team overall and have eked out important results against the top six sides in Spain.

With a lackadaisical away record, Barcelona will likely drop points at some point, and Real Madrid need to capitalize on Barca’s fall, as their loss is Real’s gain.

Real Madrid has a squad that runs deeper than Barcelona’s and the players have returned much fitter than the Catalans. The last few games are always very tense affairs, especially in a title race that would go down the wire till the end.

Needless to say that Real will conjure up more points than their Catalan counterparts.
