Real Madrid are scoring goals again, and it’s wonderful to see.

In their four games since La Liga’s return, Real Madrid have not scored fewer than two goals in any of them. More importantly, Los Blancos haven’t dropped points either, settling back into first place last Sunday after defeating Real Sociedad 2-1 at the Anoeta Stadium.

The defense has been as solid as ever, with Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane standing out in front of superstar goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. But the resurgence of the attack has been the real story for Real.

Here are three predictions for the forwards for the remainder of the 2019-2020 La Liga season.

Karim Benzema scores five more goals

Right now, Karim Benzema is sitting in the team lead with 17 La Liga goals, placing him second in the league behind Lionel Messi’s 21. The Real Madrid star striker had only scored two goals in 2020 prior to the shutdown, but he’s already scored three goals in four games since La Liga’s return despite doing even more dirty work to help other players score.

Benzema has seven games left in the league to add to his tally. Given his return of three goals in the last four games, it’s realistic to expect him to score five goals in the final seven matches of La Liga. That would bring Benzema’s season haul to 22, which is a respectable number, especially considering all of Benz’s creative responsibilities.
