Real Madrid Predicted XI vs. Getafe: Isco is the No. 10
Real Madrid have a tough matchup ahead of them against Getafe.
Just a few days after their victory against Espanyol, Real Madrid find themselves preparing for another league game and this time they will be taking on Getafe. The match has gotten even sweeter with the news that Atletico Madrid held Barcelona to a 2-2 draw which means that a win could see Los Merengues go four points ahead at the top of the league.
Predicted XI:
Goalkeeper:
Consistently proving that he has what it takes to play for this team is Thibaut Courtois and the Belgian goalkeeper will be starting in goal once again. Unless Real Madrid reach the final game of the season as champions, I highly doubt that we’ll see more of Alphonse Areola with Zidane treating each match as a final.
Defenders:
Yet again, it’s extremely worrying to know that our only natural right-back is Dani Carvajal who has seemed tired and has a history of injuries but he will be the man chosen in that position especially against a very strong Getafe side.
In the middle, we’ll see the duo that we have seen every game since the return as Raphael Varane has been in incredible form while Sergio Ramos continuously gives the team the required motivation and leadership that they need on the pitch. I expect that we’ll be seeing the return of Ferland Mendy on the left in order to give Los Blancos the necessary cover that they need at the back.

Midfielders:
“The Tank” Carlos Casemiro will be our defensive midfielder on the night and he has proven himself to be one of the best in the world when it comes to his position. Thankfully, a suspension a couple games ago meant that he was able to get some unexpected rest.
In front of the Brazilian, Toni Kroos will be picked alongside Luka Modric who is expected to return to the starting eleven after serving his suspension in the match against Espanyol.
This may be a little bit of a risk, but I’ll add Isco to this list as yes, he will obviously be a forward if he plays but I expect him to be in the “number 10” role right behind the attackers on the night.
It may not happen but if it does, this gives Isco a golden opportunity to have a free role right behind the strikers and showcase his ability, which he was unable to do in his minutes back since returning from injury.
Forwards:
Up front, we will see Karim Benzema as our main striker but I predict that Vinicius Junior will be chosen next to him. Even though the young Brazilian might not be a striker, he will be given the freedom to move over to the left when needed and go forward as he pleases.
This is a very specific lineup and it’s difficult to do this when you’re trying to predict what Zidane has in mind but Zidane has consistently made changes and maybe it’s time for this.
Full Predicted Lineup:
Thibaut Courtois, Dani Carvajal, Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos, Ferland Mendy, Carlos Casemiro, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Isco, Vinicius Junior, Karim Benzema
