Real Madrid got the job done against Getafe to go four points clear in first.

When Barcelona dropped more points, drawing 2-2 to Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid knew they had a chance to finally put some daylight between themselves and their title rivals. And although it was far from a convincing display, Real managed to get the job done behind a penalty drawn by Dani Carvajal and converted by Sergio Ramos, defeating Getafe 1-0.

Getafe are a tough team, but an even bigger test awaits them on Sunday against Athletic Club. Here are five burning questions for Los Blancos.

1. What will Isco’s role be?

Isco was one of Real Madrid’s top performers earlier in 2020, but he struggled recently against Getafe and was one of the first players taken off during the triple substitutions. He hasn’t made much of an impact since La Liga’s return, and he was especially disappointing against Getafe. Isco was supposed to be the key to victory in the diamond formation, but he was bullied easily and took up poor positions, never helping the attack. When he did get a chance at the back post, he failed to convert.

Isco was supposed to have a big role in the game with Eden Hazard out as a precaution, but he failed to seize his opportunity. The Spanish No. 10 is a solid player and can help Los Blancos for the rest of the year, but he needs to step up.
