Real Madrid 2 – Deportivo Alaves 0: Three takeaways from another clean sheet

Zinedine Zidane’s lineup juggling continues to delight
There was concern from Madridistas regarding the huge changes to the defense heading into this game. Marcelo is out for the remainder of the league season and Ramos and Carvajal were suspended, so there was reason to worry.
But, Mendy, Eder Militao, Raphael Varane, and Lucas Vazquez had little to worry about with Alaves struggling to push the ball forward.
Real’s usual midfield three of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, and Casemiro were solid throughout and they really helped to alleviate the pressure on the defensive line. Were Fede Valverde in today, the result could have been very different.
This was another tactical clinic from Zizou and we should all be applauding his coaching abilities.
