CB Sergio Ramos

I have a feeling Sergio Ramos’ heroics will be needed against Granada, considering how tough this team plays and how motivated they are at their outside chance of qualifying for European football. Granada are suddenly ahead of Athletic Bilbao in La Liga, and they are tied on points with Valencia with a much better goal differential. An upset win over Real Madrid, and they could leap into the top seven.

So Ramos will need to counteract Granada’s hunger with his own fiery leadership Ramos will be going up against a Granada side that has some underrated attacking power, including Darwin Machis and Antonio Puertas as wide forwards.

Plus, Granada have one of La Liga’s most experienced strikers off the bench for this game in Roberto Soldado, who was once a star player for Real’s in-city rivals Getafe.

Ramos will need to be on guard defensively and at his best offensively to help Real grab the goals they may need to secure three points at Los Carmenes. With 10 goals this season and an ability to score from the penalty spot or from a free kick, Ramos could easily make the difference again on Monday night. He’s been on another level since La Liga’s return and is fresh fitness-wise.
