A look at the predicted starting XI for Real Madrid against Granada.

Real Madrid prepare to take on a Granada side that have been exceeding expectations so far this season and the last time these two teams met, we witnessed a very entertaining 4-2 win for Los Blancos earlier in the season. With the league title within reach, Real Madrid cannot rest now and will need to come out fighting once again.

Predicted Starting Lineup:

Goalkeeper –

Thibaut Courtois has continued to impress in goal and his struggles seem to be a distant memory for a lot of fans. The Belgian has finally been able to cement his place and restore his reputation when it mattered most and therefore we cannot be surprised to see him called upon with each game regardless of how little we have seen from Alphonse Areola recently.

Defenders –

After missing three of our main defenders in the last match, two have returned from suspension while Marcelo continues to get treated. Dani Carvajal got some much-needed rest on Friday and is expected to return to the starting eleven. We will also get to see the incredible partnership of Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos once again as Eder Militao was picked in the past couple matches. On the right, Ferland Mendy will be taking his place there for the time being and will aim to continue showcasing his abilities whether defensively or offensively.

Midfielders –

It’s extremely important to note that Zidane will have to keep in mind that even though they will play Granada on Monday, there is another game very soon after on Thursday night. Will he make some switches to the team?

Well, Carlos Casemiro will be expected to play both games and therefore will be our starter on the night while Toni Kroos will be taking his place alongside Luka Modric as I expect the Croatian to be rested on Thursday night with Federico Valverde taking his place.

Forwards –

With Marco Asensio and Rodrygo Goes both playing in the past two matches, we may see them rested this time around. If that’s the case, it brings up the question of who will be chosen to start.

I don’t think Eden Hazard will play but may come on for a good chunk of the second half. However, it’s a bit of a safe bet to say that Vinicius Junior will be on the left flank after some impressive performances whenever he has started.

Will Gareth Bale be a shocking decision on the right? Judging by recent developments and how reluctant Zidane looks to play him, it may be a little farfetched. I’m going to still take a risk though and say that Isco will be playing on the right this time around. In attack, Karim Benzema seems to be fit enough to play and therefore it would be a little surprising if Zidane doesn’t pick him.
