3 reasons why Real Madrid are primed to win 2019-2020 La Liga

Real Madrid is just two wins away from winning their 34th La Liga title.

When the season restarted in June after the COVID-19 break, Real Madrid was two points behind FC Barcelona in the league table. Madrid needed their eternal rivals to drop points and take advantage of it, which is what happened.

Los Blancos have taken advantage and have now taken the top spot and created a four-point cushion. There are still three games left to play for the Whites, but two wins in those games will seal the title for the Whites regardless of what Barcelona do.

While we are still not over the finishing line, here are three reasons why Real Madrid are primed to win the league:

1.Defensive system

Ever since Cristiano Ronaldo left, it was clear that Madrid was going to struggle for goals. The consensus from that moment on was that the Whites need to focus more on defense to make up for the lack of goals. While both Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari failed to do so, Zinedine Zidane has successfully done it.

Not only has Zidane implemented a clear defensive system in place but he also has managed to make the players believe in that system. Madrid has only conceded 21 goals in the league this season, which is the best in the league.

While Madrid has been better all season defensively, they’ve been even better since the restart, conceding only two goals in eight games so far. The positioning of Casemiro, the form of Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos, and the midfielders all contributing defensively has led to this.
Right now, Madrid is a wall defensively that is very hard to break down.
