2. Different players stepping up

When Real Madrid last won the league title under Zinedine Zidane back in 2017, one of the major reasons was the so-called B-team. While Real Madrid doesn’t have the same squad depth as back then, it does have something equally important and similar.

And that something has been the non-dependence on any one player. Throughout this season, Real Madrid has had different players stepping up for them at various positions. May it be Casemiro at DM, Thibaut Courtois at GK, Karim Benzema at striker, there’s always been, someone.

Every single player has come up and played their role and ensured that Madrid gets through tricky situations. The most recent example is of Lucas Vázquez, a right-winger playing at right-back because Carvajal being suspended. While Lucas wasn’t good in the game, he did his job successfully and made no major mistakes.

Fede Valverde who was so crucial for Madrid before the COVID break seems to have lost his form since the restart. Madrid would have suffered if not for the resurgence of Luka Modric since the restart. There are many more examples to go on but this has been the theme throughout the season and is one of the major reasons why Madrid can get across the finish line.
