Real Madrid: Player Ratings from the 1-2 win against Granada
Forwards
Isco – 6.5/10
Isco had a bright first half. He was involved throughout. His brilliant run off the ball opened up space for Mendy that led to the opening goal.
The Spaniard was also involved in the second goal as his sleek backheel to Modric started the move for Benzema’s goal.
However, he lacked intensity in the second half and got dispossessed a couple of times. The former Malaga midfielder looked tired and got replaced by Rodrygo in the 63rd minute.
Karim Benzema – 8/10
Karim Benzema was once again one of the best players on the pitch. He continued to be fantastic with his link-up plays and involvement in the final third.
The Frenchman scored a great goal that ultimately ended up being the winner. He completed three dribbles in the match.
Benzema also contributed in defense in the second half when Granada piled up the pressure. He dropped deep and tracked back often to win the ball.
Substitutions
Marco Asensio – 5.5/10
Asensio did not have much of an impact on the game. Real Madrid got stretched by Granada in the second half, and Zidane introduced Asensio and Rodrygo to give Los Blancos some width.
However, Asensio only had 11 touches in the match, and a mediocre 75 percent pass completion.
Rodrygo – 6.5/10
The young Brazillian was the brighter of the two substitutes. Rodrygo has come back from the pandemic break, looking more confident.
He is always dribbling at defenders and trying to make something happen. The Real Madrid winger contributed with two key passes and one successful dribble in the match.
