The tactical king of Spain reigns supreme
Zinedine Zidane was criticized for leaving Real Madrid when he did. But, after eight months of struggles and two former players turned managers, the magician Zizou returned and led a rebounding side to a league title.
Mind you, Zidane has now won 11 trophies in 209 matches while in charge of Real Madrid. It’s true that he has the budget, the stars, the facilities, and the backing from the board to support him, but the Frenchman has the tactical prowess to guide this team past the likes of FC Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, and many other quality sides in Spain.
With Benz as the leading attacker and problems with Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez lingering in the background, Zidane has kept his squad focused and determined to win.
His game-by-game decision making has increased substantially since he originally took over the job and he deserves respect from football pundits around the world for what he has done this season.
Managing his team’s fitness levels with two and three matches per week has been nothing short of miraculous. He deserves as much of the praise as any single player.
