Three takeaways as Real Madrid secure the La Liga title

Oh, how perfect it is!
What’s better than Real Madrid securing the league title with a win? It’s FC Barcelona losing to Osasuna at home that further guaranteed it of course!
The only other bonus that would have made this day better is if Benzema had overtaken Lionel Messi for top-goalscorer in Spain, but it was not to be as the Argentine scored from a free-kick in the 1-2 defeat.
As has been the case for 10 straight matches now, Real Madrid has taken care of business and Barca has not. The results Thursday further prove that point.
The coronavirus pandemic could not slow down Real, in fact, it likely helped them in the long-run because they were able to get several players back healthy. It’s time to celebrate this one for a few days before finishing up league matches (wouldn’t it be sweet to win 11 straight to close out the season?) and then focus needs to be on the Champions League round of 16 and Man City.
Real Madrid captured the elusive league trophy tonight, but the work is not done quite yet!
