Sergio Ramos – A

Our beloved captain Sergio Ramos. He may not have been as solid defensively as Varane, but he offers something no one else can do quite like him: Leadership. In the past, that responsibility was shared between Ramos and Cristiano Ronaldo but the Spanish defender took it all upon himself when the Portuguese left, and his presence is easily seen on the pitch. When Ramos plays, the team performs better and there is no denying that. He also finished the season with 11 goals, second place in the team with Benzema in first.

Eder Militao – B

Overall, a very good first season for Eder Militao. He’s still young and you can see that in his play but he’s also extremely mature for his age. The Brazilian was brought in as a backup and he has come out with some questionable performances earlier in the season but he improves with every appearance. We have seen the best performances of Militao since the return of play and there is no doubt that he’ll keep improving from here.

Marcelo – C-

Overall, this was definitely a disappointing season for Marcelo. Last season, many wanted to see him replaced but Zidane had other ideas. Unfortunately, though, Marcelo will never reach the heights we have gotten used to anymore. He’s slowly becoming the backup to Ferland Mendy and it would be a little surprising to see him continue at the club after August – with Mendy and Sergio Reguilon at the club there is really no place for the legend anymore. This isn’t me taking anything away from what the Brazilian has given us throughout his career but unfortunately, all good things do eventually come to an end.

Ferland Mendy – B

Another new signing at the club, Ferland Mendy was initially brought in as a replacement to Marcelo. However, the French left-back has proven himself time and time again (especially after the return to play) and he has all but cemented his spot as a starter. It’s true that he and Marcelo both offer different things on the pitch but when you sit back and ask yourself who the better left-back is, it’s Mendy right now.
