Lucas Vazquez – D

It’s a little weird putting Lucas Vazquez under “forwards” since he also spent a good amount of time being a backup for Dani Carvajal at right-back. Regardless, this definitely was not a season to remember for him. Once trusted by Zidane as a “super-sub”, Vazquez has now fallen behind in the list after the arrival of Rodrygo. It will be very interesting to see whether or not the club chooses to keep him this summer or let him move on.

Marco Asensio – B+

He wasn’t even supposed to play this season… Marco Asensio tore his ACL last summer and was ready to miss the full season before the pandemic hit and gave him the opportunity to return to the pitch and he returned with style! The Spaniard scored three goals since his comeback and has continued to show that he will be back to his best very soon.

Eden Hazard – D-

A disappointing season however you look at it. Eden Hazard was meant to be the massive signing of the summer but a poor diet in the beginning mixed with constant injuries meant that Hazard was never really able to reach the heights that were expected of him. With one goal scored so far, he’ll definitely need to improve drastically in the next season.

Vinicius Junior – B-

Still struggling with his final touch but there is no one that cannot deny how much of an improvement Vinicius has made. His decision making has greatly improved while still being a threat whenever he has the ball. I know we have been saying this for a little while now but once he is able to work on his finishing, there’s no stopping him.

Rodrygo Goes – B

Started off very brightly but as time went on, he wasn’t as flashy as we got used to. That isn’t to say he didn’t offer a lot but he’s still quite raw and it’ll be very interesting to see how he grows with the club.

Gareth Bale – F

Not a good season at all for Gareth Bale. He’s been at outcast since last summer and even more so now as he is struggling to get any time on the pitch. Since the return of the play, he’s started and came on as a substitute twice but was never able to perform up to standard. Since then, he’s been sitting on the bench and mocking the media to pass the time.
