Real Madrid: Top prospect could get huge loan opportunity in Bundesliga
Real Madrid attacking midfielder Reinier Jesus signed in the winter transfer window, but he needs playing time.
Los Blancos have some of the most impressive young talent in world football, especially in the attacking midfield. Takefusa Kubo, Martin Odegaard, and Oscar Rodriguez have all played at a high level on loan, and Real Madrid will be working on a new loan deal for Kubo while negotiating a potential transfer for the underrated Oscar.
But they also need to consider loaning out another one of their young attacking midfielders in Reinier Jesus. The Brazilian joined the team for 30 million euros from Flamengo in the winter transfer window, and he has been showing his future first-team quality at Castilla.
Reinier has a chance to develop into one of the world’s best, so Real Madrid are keen for him to get minutes on loan. It’s unrealistic for him to play for Los Blancos in 2020-2021, given that players like Luka Modric, Isco, and Toni Kroos are in midfield.
According to a report from Goal.com’s Bruno Andrade, Real Madrid have begun “concrete” negotiations with Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen for a loan deal involving Reinier.
Kai Havertz, who is a Real Madrid target, may be close to a transfer to Chelsea this summer. If so, Bayer would absolutely need a new attacking midfielder to lead the attack, and the Bundesliga is always a great place for young talent to sign. Look no further than former and current Madrid players Achraf Hakimi and Luka Jovic. Dani Carvajal also had a great loan spell at Leverkusen before becoming the world’s best right back at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Other clubs have been linked to Reinier in possible loan deals, such as Real Sociedad. Goal.com’s report also mentions that Ronaldo’s Real Valladolid have shown interest in Reinier.
The 18-year-old No. 10 is so talented that he could start for a club like Leverkusen or Sociedad, who are both Europa League-quality teams. Bayer have even more talent than Sociedad and could make the Champions League again, meaning Reinier would play at the very highest level if Bayer were to qualify during a two-year loan spell.
