Real Madrid: ¡Muchas gracias, Zinedine Zidane!

If there was someone who would have returned to the helm merely 10 months after resigning, it was Zinedine Zidane. Amidst all the laughable talk about Jose Mourinho being the one to replace Santiago Solari, president Florentino Perez played the ace up his sleeve by reappointing Zidane, and rightfully so.
Zizou is hands down the best coach Real Madrid could have because of two reasons:
1) His tactical acumen is top notch!
2) He knows and cares for the club more than any other manager on Earth would.
He knew the risks associated with retaking the job as Real Madrid’s manager, but that’s what makes him so special. As much as it takes a toll on him, he loves to be the head coach more than anything else and you can always see it in his face.
He put his entire managerial reputation at stake, not because Perez offered him twice or thrice the amount of money he earned during his first stint with the club, but because he wanted to be the man to save Real Madrid’s ship from sinking even deeper.

A lot of questions were raised when his reappointment was announced. Pundits and reporters became only more cynical after a humiliating 7-3 preseason loss to cross-city rivals Atlético Madrid, with some even going as far to state that Zidane would be sacked before December. It’s such a pity that his doubters doubted him so, so easily.
Zidane stated that he wanted to win La Liga and he did exactly that in a staggering fashion. He won ten consecutive games after the restart with the only blip being the draw against Leganés on the final matchday.
If you think Zidane cannot overturn the first leg deficit against Manchester City in the Champions league, wait and watch until he summons another tactical masterclass, proving why he is Mister Zinedine Zidane!
